What to expect on the day of a PlexR Treatment

On the day of your treatment, when you arrive at our office you will fill out paperwork before being taken into the procedure room, where Dr. Crawford will talk you through the process.

The first step will be to administer a type of anesthetic to numb the treatment areas, minimizing the possibility of discomfort and pain.

Once the anesthetic has been given time to set in, Dr. Crawford will be using the PlexR on your chosen skin areas. Small brown patches will immediately appear where the skin has been treated and in the case of wrinkle treatment, the area will show some immediate contraction. The brown spots are known as carbon crusts, which take around 5-10 days to fall off. They will look burnt and brown before falling off on their own. It’s very important not to rub your eyes or disturb the tiny scabs since they play an important role in healing and tissue regeneration.

After treating the highlighted areas, Dr. Crawford will apply a special cream to apply to your eyelids to reduce itching and promote healing. You’ll also need to avoid direct sun exposure while the area heals.
